The McCain campaign has threatened to sue Barack Obama and the Democratic party over Senator Obama's use of the term 'lipstick' at a recent campaign rally (Mr. Obama compared Senator McCain's attempted usurpation of the Democratic 'agent of change' appellation to 'putting lipstick on a pig.') Based on the phrase, 'a pit bull with lipstick', in Governor Palin's speech to the Republican convention the Republicans are asserting an intellectual property right to the public use of the term 'lipstick'.
